Siesta Key is just one of an eight mile long group of barrier islands across Sarasota and Roberts Bay from the city. These beautiful small islands are known for their white quartz sand beaches and beautiful, clear, blue waters. In fact, Siesta Key’s beaches are considered to be some of the finest and best in the world.
One of Sunset Royale’s favorite features is its direct access to the beach. Siesta Key has two famous beaches, Siesta Public Beach and Crescent Beach. Both have the wonderful white sands the area is famous for.
Siesta Public Beach has many of its own amenities. It has the fabulous beach and water, but also a lifeguard on duty, volleyball courts, nature trails, playgrounds and tennis. All of these are just a short walk from Sunset Royale.
Crescent Beach is best known as a favorite spot for divers. Point of Rocks is a rock formation of the end of Crescent Beach made of colorful coral and rock and inhabited by interesting sea life that is a favorite diving spot for divers in the area.
After a long day at the beach what could anyone want more than a frosty tropical drink and a great meal? Siesta Key has those to offer as well. In fact, Siesta Key Village is a charming village of over 100 shops and restaurants.
Of course, the city of Sarasota is a short drive across one of the two bridges that connect the barrier islands to the mainland. There you can find many excellent performances, great shopping, sporting events and much more.
